Prevident 5000 Instructions

Uses

• Gives you 4 times the fluoride compared to over-the-counter toothpastes, making your smile more resistant to decay and bacteria that lead to cavities.
• Ideal treatment for patients with higher risks of tooth decay, crown and bridge work, or orthodontic decalcification.
• It’s intended for long term use, so when your supply runs out, contact our dental office to obtain more, or you can go to the pharmacy with a prescription.

Administration

Follow these instructions unless we give you other directions:

Adults:

Apply a thin line of prescription fluoride toothpaste to your brush and clean your smile thoroughly, preferably before you go to sleep. Continue to use your normal toothpaste for your brushing in the morning. Make sure that you spit out the medicine after each use—do not swallow. Additionally, avoid eating, rinsing your mouth, or drinking for at least 30 minutes after brushing for the best results.

Pediatric patients, ages 6-16:

Apply a thin line of prescription fluoride toothpaste to your brush and clean your smile thoroughly, preferably before you go to sleep. Continue to use your normal toothpaste for your brushing in the morning. Make sure that you spit out the medicine after each use—do not swallow. Unlike adults, children should rinse their mouth right away after brushing.
